Playing in the dirt!

Over the weekend B and I planted strawberries, tomatoes, basil, chives, and primrose. This is the first time we have even attempted to grow anything so I’m very excited and hoping they grow! Earlier Saturday morning we researched how to grow plants from seeds and which plants grow better in pots verses in flower beds. Hopefully we will be successful and have strawberries to eat in a few months!!!

This is a picture of the primrose. Isn't it beautiful?
What are your favorite things to grow? Do you have any special tricks or secrets for growing healthy plants??

True Friendships

Now that I'm getting married it's very easy for me to see how I WASN'T a good friend during my BFF's wedding last year. Ahh.... I hate this.
Over the weekend we were talking about the wedding budget and how to cut money. She suggested that we have a pot-luck or ask my bridesmaids mothers to cook a dish to bring to the rehearsal dinner. When she was getting married last year she also suggested that they may have a potluck rehearsal dinner for her wedding. I judged her BIG TIME and I couldn't believe she would dare have a potluck! I couldn't help but think how "redneck" that is and how unthoughtful! I'm such a BITCH!!! Why in the world would I judge her about that? I should have realized her budget situation and supported her. I should have wanted her to have a stress free event. The rehearsal dinner should have been the last thing she should be worrying about. Although, I never said anything to her I just gossiped and judged. Now, I'm nothing but appreciative of how thoughtful she is being. She also suggested doing very small bridal party gifts and even not doing them at all. Can you believe how thoughtful this is? Uhh... I hate that I would have NEVER said that to her. I couldn't believe it, someone who is spending so much money and dedicating so much time wanted nothing in return. I have been an terrible friend. No doubt, We have our issues... but that's TRUE friendship!
I am so blessed to have such amazing people and friends in my life. I don't have a lot of family and especially people who care about the wedding so my friends are my EVERYTHING. People always say "you are lucky to have 1 true friend in a life time." I must be VERY lucky because I have at least 4 or 5. Which, there has been times when I haven't treated all of them fair either. I'm just so appreciative of everyone who is doing so much to help make my wedding day run smooth. I'm a little emotional today, if you can't tell.
So needless-to-day, my new goal is to be less of a bitch, to be more supportive of my friends, to be less selfish, to no longer judge, and to no longer gossip!

To a new beginning, a new me, and to true friendships!

Ribbon Wreaths

I'm so excited about the DIY project I will be doing this weekend. I am making ribbon wreaths to put on the outside of the doors of the church and on the doors of the receptions venue. I found these ard I thought they were WAY cute! This is such a easy and cheap way to add a little color to the room. I'll post pictures once I'm done :)

My Basketball Baby

B had an amazing coaching opportunity to take his team to the state championship. However, they did lose 2 games before the championship it was still a wonderful opportunity. The games were held at Rupp Arena (where UK plays.) We were able to walk around under and behind the court and we had passes to enter the hospitality room, which is HUGE. We saw and talked with several big name coaches there and even Joe B. Hall!!!

This is at Diddle Arena (WKU Basketball) where the team won the regional championship which allowed the to play at RUPP

The team warming up before the first game. B texting me to see where I am hahah!!!

Standing so proudly on the RUPP court.

Besides all this basketball excitement I'm also so relived it's over! We have SOO much wedding stuff to do that we haven't been able to get anything done, especially during tournament time. Remember girls, this is my first full year living with a basketball coach! Who knew the time it took?

Making me Smile :)

Ohh you make me smile :)

You´re better then the best
I´m lucky just to linger in your life
Cooler then the flip side of my pillow that´s right

Completely unaware
Nothing can compare to where you send me
Lets me know that it´s ok yeah it´s ok
And the moments where my good times start to fade

You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed sing like a bird
Dizzy in my head spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool

Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Ohh you make me smile

Even when you´re gone
Somehow you come along
Just like a flower poking through the sidewalk crack and just like that
You steal away the rain and just like that

You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed sing like bird
Dizzy in my head spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night

You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Ohh you make me smile

Don´t know how I lived without you
Cuz everytime that I get around you
I see the best of me inside your eyes
You make me smile

You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild

You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed sing like bird
Dizzy in my head spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool

Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Ohh you make me smile
Ohh you make me smile
Ohh you make me smile

Already Monday?

What a wonderful weekend! It went by way to fast though.
Friday night B and I went to dinner and watched a movie. Actually, I feel asleep early and he watched a movie.

Saturday morning B and I both got up early. He had practice at 10am and I went to get a pedi with my bestie! OPI Strawberry Margarita, if you are curious. It was truely one of the best pedicures I have ever gotten. After, we went to lunch! Later Saturday afternoon B and I went home to go to dinner with friends and visit family. We stayed at my parents house that night.

Sunday morning we finished registering at Target, went to his grandmothers and headed back to our home. We went to eat Mexican with the same bestie I got my pedi with this weekend. It was wonderful... I haven't got to see her that much in one week in a long time.
Now it's back to work :(

We have a busy week ahead; tonight B has a game and if they win they will also play on Tuesday, Wednesday church and RCIA meeting and this weekend we have my little brothers birthday party! He's turning 7. The party is at the bowling ally, can't wait!

Hope you all have a wonderful week.

We Booked the Honeymoon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's Right! Over the weekend we looked at several different resorts and narrowed it down to 2 different ones. Yesterday morning we decided we would both think about which resort we would rather go to and make our final decision that night. Last night we sat down for dinner and discussed the pros and cons to each. After much thought and research we decided on the Sandos Caracol Eco-Resort & Spa in the Rivera Maya!! It's an all inclusive resort. Our flight was even included with our ticket price. The resort lies in an extensive natural area at the edge of an exotic jungle surrounded by mangroves and natural lagoons. We joined the "select" club which basically means we are the VIP. haha Some of the benefits to the "select" club is that you have priority in regards to reservations at the restaurants. The "select" club members also have their own private beach with waiter service, a jacuzzi on their balcony and golf cart transportation around the resort. B and I have never been on a vacation like this so we are beyond excited. We are leaving the Sunday after the wedding at 6:15 am and we will arrive in Cancun at 2:20.
